Context

The work used a microring resonator to generate entangled photon pairs at two different wavelengths. One photon was matched to quantum memory systems, while the other was matched to transmission through optical fiber.

Approach

The illustration turns a chip-scale optical process into a proposed Nature Physics cover image. Pump light enters the ring, and the paired photons leave as two visibly different outputs, emphasizing both the ring geometry and the wavelength pairing.
